Roland AP-5 Phase Five Phaser Effects Pedal

The instrument

The Roland AP-5 Phase Five Phaser is an effects pedal for guitar. It was launched in 1974 as the first phaser from Roland. The cast iron housing is the same that was used for the successor Roland AP-7 and slightly modified for Boss CE-1, DB-5 and DM-1.

Details

The AP-5 Phaser has three switches: the switch between Effect and Normal signal, the switch from C.C. (Continuous Control, controlled by the built-in LFO) to T.C. (Touch Control, controlled by the level of the input signal) and the switch from Slow to Fast in C.C. mode. In addition, four controls are used to adjust the phaser: Sensitivity determines the sensitivity to the input signal in T.C. mode, Intensity the stroke, Repeat Rate the modulation speed for Slow and Fast in C.C. mode. The AP-5 has a built-in power supply. (Source: Roland Museum)
