The Studer A 807 is a professional analogue tape recorder that was on the market from 1986 to 2000. It was the last tape recorder manufactured by Studer. It can be configured for various applications and was used by many radio stations worldwide. There are monophonic, stereo and four-channel versions.

Details

The Revox A 807 is a device with very precise tape movement control. It uses magnetic tapes with a width of ¼ inch and accepts tape reels with diameters up to 10 ¼ inches. The tape speeds are 3.75/7.5/15 and 30 ips. Most of the recorder's relevant control parameters are stored in a memory. Some DC control voltages are converted to digital values. Remote control is possible via serial and parallel digital interfaces. The recorder can be equipped with or without a VU meter. The frequency response is 30 Hz to 20 kHz at a tape speed of 30 ips. The SNR ranges from 50 dB to 70 dB, depending on the number of tracks and the tape speed. All devices are equipped with Dolby HX-PRO.
