The instrument
The GE-7 is a graphic equaliser pedal with seven individually adjustable frequency bands. It followed the GE-6 from 1977. The compact device affects the frequencies 100 Hz, 200 Hz, 400 Hz, 800 Hz, 1.6 kHz, 3.2 kHz and 6.4 kHz for the adjustment range ±15 dB boost/cut. While the first six bands (100 Hz to 3.2 kHz) are designed as peak filters for frequency control, the 6.4 kHz slider controls a shelving filter for smooth treble adjustments. The level slider also offers a ±15 dB adjustment range to match the overall volume to the bypass signal and use the pedal as a clean booster.
