Cheetah DP-5 Electronic Drum Pads

Cheetah Electronic Drum Pads

The instrument

Cheetah probably launched the DP-5 drum pads in 1987 with the MD-8 drum machine and an interface box. This was followed in 1991 by the MD-16 16-bit drum machine with an 8-input P2M pads-to-midi interface box, followed by the MD16R as a 1U rack unit. The pads have the same design as the Honky Tonk Music clone kits from 1983-1987, which Cheetah possibly produced under license.
