The instrument
The simple synthesizer was built by ELEX (Elettronica Excelsior) for Hohner International and followed a similar model called HI Piano I (K-1). The K-1 appeared in 1974 / 1975, the K-2 probably in 1977. Elex also released the K-2 Stringvox, the K-3 Jazz-Rock-Organ/Piano and the K-4 Stringer under their own label. The K-2 sounds similar to the Elka Rhapsody 610.
Details
The Elex synthesiser is polyphonic. The 'Ensemble' key allows you to play all 4 octaves simultaneously on the lower part of the keyboard. The Bass preset can also be activated for this part of the keyboard. Piano / Harpsichord / Cello / Strings can be activated/deactivated for both halves. There are separate outputs for piano, piano-harp and bass as well as a mix output. (Source: Matrixsynth)
