Boss SE-50 Stereo Effects Processor Rack

The instrument

The Micro Rack series from Boss was introduced in 1984/1985. It comprises 17 effects, from equalizer, flanger, chorus and distortion to a digital panning delay. They are coordinated in terms of their connection and control options. The SE-50 was released in 1990, the successor SE-70 in 1993.

Details

The SE-50 is a multi-effects unit equipped with a 16-bit DA/AD converter and a sampling frequency of 32kHz or 48kHz. It has a stereo input and output, is fully MIDI compatible and its user presets can be stored externally via the MIDI interface. It has 28 integrated algorithms. The focus of the device is on reverb, with 9 of the 28 algorithms being pure reverb algorithms. There are 128 presets. Presets 1-100 are user programmable.
