Roland SBX-80 Midi Sync Box Midi Controller

The instrument

The SBX-80 is a sync box and is used for joint tempo control of connected MIDI devices (MIDI clock), DIN sync devices and those that require trigger pulses.

Details

The SBX-80 supports 1, 2, 3, 4, 12, 24, 28 or 96 pulses per quarter note. Up to 8 tempo sequences can be programmed for songs. In slave mode, only the programmed songs can be played back, with SMPTE or MIDI clock selectable as synchronisation sources. The SBX-80 can also generate SMPTE codes. However, real-time conversion of DIN sync or triggers to MIDI clock is not possible. (Source: Rolandmuseum)
