The instrument
The Roland Kick Trigger Unit was designed for the Roland V-Drums to enable fast triggering. The V-Drums were propagated in the 1980s as a new definition of drums. The velocity-sensitive kick drum trigger is used with a conventional foot machine. It is equipped with a mix input so that two KD-7s can be combined to use a double foot machine. The KD-7 is also used in combination with an HPD-15 hand percussion pad.
