Philips Philicorda GM752/01B Electronic Organ

The instrument

In 1967, the Philicorda 752 followed the GM751, the first model in the GM series, with a slightly different appearance of the toggle switches, in which transistors were installed in addition to the tubes for amplification. All previous Philcordas had slight differences in sound with a warm basic sound created by the use of cold cathode relay tubes. The range comprises 4 octaves (49 keys) with foot positions of 8‘/4’/2’. The Vox I/Vox II/Vox III/Vox IV/Vox V registers can be controlled via the vibrato, reverb/reverbbo, volume, balance and combination effect controls. The volume is fine-tuned via an external pedal.

Details

Like all Philicorda organs, the GM752 has a one-finger automatic chord system. This works by assigning chords to individual keys: pressing G sharp produces an E7 chord, pressing A produces an A minor chord. Each Philicorda has 17 pre-programmed chords (C - A7 - Dm - Eb - Em - F - D - G - E7 - Am - B - G7 - Cm - H9 - Gm - F7 - C7), but the key assignments have changed. The chord section is also the split point of the manual, in the lower section of which the organ produces a fixed sound in addition to the respective chords. (Source: Wikipedia)
